One of the best texts is the law itself. It spells out all stipulations as
well as provide all definitions. The law is PL 94-553, and is available in
pamphlet form from the US Gov't Printing Office. They might be free, or
at the most very cheap. Other texts are Marie Molaro's _Legal Primer_,
Steve Weil's _Beauty and the Beasts_, and the jointly authored two volume
_Art Law_. All are still in print. Marilyn Phelan's 1984 _Museums and the
Law_ is still a good read. She has just recently published _Museum Law_,
which addresses many of the current legal discussions and debates affecting
the profession. Good luck.
