As a contemporary art center, I get all kinds of questions, the most
popular ones being "I want a painting for my wall, can you give me some
artists' names?" and "I found a painting in my attic, what's it worth?"
For the first, I try to determine their tastes, etc. and then if they seem
to want to commission a piece, I work on an hourly fee plus commission
basis ($10 per hour plus 10% of purchase price beyond what the artist
gets).  I have had a few takers.
