Perhaps the person was annoyed because Jim included, along with
his 4-line reply, the entire 27 lines of Eric's text? I personally
think that Jim's public reply was most appropriate and informative,
complementing the other replies. I don't think including Eric's
complete original note was necessary, as Jim's reply pretty much
said it all. My recommendation: keep the quoted text as minimal as
possible.
