Ronn...Yes, my daughter and I visited the MJT 2 years ago...and I would
put it in the same classification as an alligator farm. As a 32 year
veteran in museum work, I object to places such as this being called
MUSEUMS. The book may be fine (I have not seen it)...but this PLACE
is not. I support innovative techniques in museums and I'm all for museums
as agents of change...but this place cannot qualify for anything but a
dark and gloomy roadside stand in the middle of L.A. There was a wonderful
film a number ofyearsago about a man showing his dusty old collections
to passersby....that would better qualify as a museum than this place.
(I went because someone on Museum-L suggested that it was a MUST to visit).
And I usually trust the judgement of my Museum-L colleagues...and went to
the Gene Autry museum the same visit...and loved it!
Jane Glaser wishes you all HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
