We once held a workshop on soapstone carving in our museum.  Because of
the dust problems, it was held in the workshop and loading area.

Even though the workshop participants cleaned up well afterwards, there
was enough soapstone dust worked into the floor of the loading area to
make it almost impossible to unload the truck which arrived without
warning the next day.

In retrospect, it was quite humorous (all the technical staff, me
included, slipsliding around the work area) it was frustrating at the
time.

The moral to this story is that if I were going to do it again, I would
either do it outside of the building or put down a fabric tarp backed
with plastic to catch the dust.
