Here is a press release from The Freedom Forum.
I downloaded the press release from the U.S. Newswire BBS in Maryland
at (410) 363-0834. I do not work for the Freedom Forum.

Ghiglione Joins Newseum Staff as Professional-in-Residence

          Tricia Peterson, 703-284-2855, both of

ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 14 -- Loren Ghiglione, a
longtime newspaper industry leader, has joined The Newseum staff as a
professional-in-residence to assist in content development and
research for the historically-based exhibits of the news museum.
Ghiglione, 54, spent 26 years as editor of The News in
Southbridge, Mass., and president of Worcester County Newspapers
until he sold the company in early November. He was president of the
American Society of Newspaper Editors in 1989-90 and also served as
president of the New England Press Association and the New England
Society of Newspaper Editors.
The Newseum, the world's first museum focusing on the past,
present and future of news, is under construction at The Freedom
Forum World Center headquarters in Arlington, Va., and is scheduled
to open in 1997.
Ghiglione has been a Newseum consultant on newspaper history since
1993 and has a strong interest in the heritage of American
journalism. While a fellow at The Freedom Forum Media Studies Center
in New York City in 1987-88, he curated an exhibit for the Library of
Congress on "The American Journalist: Paradox of the Press." He
authored an accompanying book and took the exhibit on tour with
support from The Freedom Forum's predecessor, the Gannett Foundation.
During his year as a Media Studies Center fellow, Ghiglione also
studied how the Russian press portrays the United States and how
American journalists depict the Soviet Union.
"Loren Ghiglione has been involved in The Newseum since the
project's inception, and his knowledge of newspaper history will be
invaluable as we develop our News History Wall and other exhibits
that capture journalism's rich heritage," said Peter S. Pritchard,
executive director of The Newseum and a senior vice president of The
Freedom Forum.
"I am delighted to join The Newseum staff," Ghiglione said. "It
gives me the opportunity to make a contribution to a project that is
of vital importance to the newspaper industry and to the nation."
