This is trivia test time; who can fill in the missing blanks???

"the battle of February 16, 1858 took place at ______________ between the
following groups: _______, ________, and _______ "

your (my) only clue is that the item associated with this battle came to
our Bishop Museum in Honolulu, Hawai'i, via the American Board of
Commissioners for Foreign Missions (ABCFM) historical collection. It came
to Bishop Museum from Boston in 1895. ABCFM had this collection in part
to show the great work they were doing (world wide) to save souls in the
wilds of the earth. So the 'battle' could have been anywhere!
Unfortunately, the catalog that came with the collection has no
information. There IS a label that says "for Lizzie from Brother" (!).
That's all. And the item involved is a human mandible, so we would like
to determine if the battle in question took place in the mainland U.S. and
the mandible should be listed under NAGPRA. This was a rather unexpected
development and we would appreciate any help the cyberspace world can give
us. We are sure the battle did not take place in Hawai'i. Our diligent
library staff has not been able to find a specific battle in the world to
tag with this date. So I am hoping somewhere out there is a battle-date
specialist who can say..."Why of course, everyone knows that's the day of
the battle of -------" and email me right back!

We would very much like to give these remains a place name and get them
listed.

any help is much appreciated!
