Howdy folks!

For quite some time, I have been trying to find an inexpensive, yet
powerful computerized collection package. I cannot afford the
top of the line Willoughby (a good product!), nor can I afford Snap! (an
almost affordable, good product.). I use an IBM compatible machine, so
"Accession" is out. My next recourse was to consult a computer guru (my
father!) Together, we have created an easily programmable, super
user-friendly product that ANYBODY can use. We created both the alpha
and beta test modules in Lotus Approach. The final product will be
transferred to Microsoft Access (the same program used by many of the
"high dollar" companies.) This program is infinitely expandable, can
search by any combination of the variable length fields, prints reports
(lists), makes catalogue cards (depending on your printer's
capabilities), and can be completely custumized within minutes.
Transfereing other database files takes between a few minutes to a few
hours, depending on the type of data to be transfered. The system
requirements are simple. A 386 or better machine, Windows 3.1 or better,
and 6 meg of memory. (This makes Windows run better.) The entire cost
of this program is about $500.

I AM NOT OFFERING THIS PRODUCT FOR SALE! I do not believe that this is
the proper place to make a sales pitch. However, I am looking for one or
two museums who would like to beta test this program, before we make a
commercial release. If you are interested in this program, contact me by
private e-mail. (No sense wasting band-width!) I cannot offer this to
everyone that will respond, yet. I am looking for institutions that have
specific search and "unusual" requirements. Remeber, we are still
working the bugs out of the program. (So far, though, it has worked
quite well.)
