The Computer Museum in Boston has an exhibit which uses bar codes as one
of its components. It's in the exhibit that deals with linking up the
world, as I remember. Visitors key information about themselves and at
the end of the exhibit, one of the characters explains how it works.
It's a fascinating (if slightly long) exhibit.
