I would start by reading "What Price Museums?", the Australian Department of
Finance's paper on, inter alia, accountability in museums, and then Des
Griffin's (director of the Australian Museum) rebuttal, done with both guns
blazing. It's called "What Value Heritage?". I don't have a copy of either on
hand right now; perhaps one of the blokes down under could help out.
