Definitely not A. B to some extent--after all, don't you hate some new
foods until you've tasted them a few times? The interpretation/translation
is most certainly our role as a NFP art center (we are NOT a commercial
gallery--very rarely do commercial galleries do any interpretation at all),
and we do it in as many ways as possible. Contemporary art, however, is
still open to a variety of interpretations--there is no "right" way to look
at it, only suggestions that might help the viewer discover his/her own meaning.
Modern art, on the other hand, is directly attributable to certain specific
movements and individuals and should by all means have detailed interpretive
materials immediatly at hand.
