Make sure you look at the "Exhibition-ism" catalog of the show at
The Museum for African Art, NYC, last year.

Also, I have found it a useful teaching tool to set students in
my survey of African Art course to the term-long task of designing
their own exhibition of African Art. This gets them into the thick of
theoretical issues and the complexities of pragmatic limitations.

Finally, look for an article by Christine Temin, arts writer for the
Boston Globe, in the Sunday magazine section in a week or two. She
was in London for "Africa '95" and is preparing an essay on exhibiting
African Art.
