Thanx for reading,

Currently I am working in the special events/fundraising area of a suburban Art
Gallery looking to develop a new evening gala event. We are
already conducting a 'high ticket' gala in the fall that includes a
live auction and silent auction (auction items ranging from travel
packages to art) which attracts 450 people and does very well.

I believe that one other gala in the spring would be possible, however
I would like to do something other than an auction. I am considering
the logistics and the revenue possibilities of an evening gala and
casino for 250-400 people. The ticket cost would be high but only
cover the food/beverage/and some labour. As we have space for 250 in
our foyer (and could able to expand to 450) there is no rental
cost. I understand that the higher the number of people the
better the revenue possibilities.

Is anyone out there currently working with a museum/gallery that has
hosted a casino? More specifically, with these conditions? Any
advice would be wonderful.

Thanx in advance,

Susan Pointe
