Nancy,
I'm not sure what all you may be asking about, but I've had
several years experience working with dermestid colonies. You asked
specifically about killing bugs or ways to keep them out of finished
material. I have successfully used a system of small paint brushes to
remove asmany bugs as possible, followed by immersion in sodium hydroxide.
This is the standard de-greaser and works quite well to kill instars that
may be in areas of the skeleton that you cannot reach.
If you have other specific questions, don't hesitate to email me
directly.
