Has anyone out there done any marketing or other studies related to
opportunities for partnerships between established museums/other heritage
institutions and the new breed of gambling casinos that seem to be springing up
like mushrooms after a rain? Or on the likely or real impacts and effects such
casinos have on the heritage institutions in the area?

A very large casino, to "serve" the Canadian national capital region and its
many rourists, is being built a few miles from the larger of the two museums
which comprise our corporation. We expect that it will have a very positive
effect on us, especially as we have Canada's largest (recently tripled in floor
space) children's museum and are the only major museum located on the Quebec
side of the region, close to the site of the casino.

I would be grateful for any comments, information as to studies conducted
elsewhere, etc.
