This morning's _Richmond Times-Dispatch_ (2/3/95) on page B3 carries the
story, "Valentine director quits, says he was undermined," by Bill
Lohmann.  According to that story, director Frank Jewell, deputy director
Judy Lankford, director of exhibitions and special projects Eryl Platzer
and coordinator of educational initiatives Amanda Macaulay have all
resigned.  The story refers to other recent pressures, by which Jewell
had relinquished the titles of president and CEO two weeks ago, while
retaining the post of executive director, but that "Last week, Jewell
said he did not plan to quit, vowing to stay 'as long as I can be useful.'"
