The Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, by policy, does not request or
accept government funding.  (Of course, the tax deductions taken by donors aer
an indirect governemt subsidy.)  Their budget is about $2 million.
 
Many children's museums earn a vast proportion of their annual bedget from
admissions, and are not government funded.
