          David:

I am heart and soul against the imposition of mandatory drug
testing as you describe it. I find it incomprehensible and
indicative of a callow and brittle attitude of your employer
towards the humanity of its employees.

I am equally appalled at the shallow responses from those on
this list to the legitimate concerns you are expressing (and
expressing very thoroughly and thoughtfully, I might add).

This country is becoming so explicitly intolerant and
ignorant (did you read that 72% of the those recently polled
had never heard of this absurd "Contract For America." Would
that I had never heard of it), that I really do encourage
your stand in this very personal infringement of your
common-sense rights. I am sure that well-paid lawyers can
argue among themselves about the legal niceties. The
situation you describe is an outrage, and I applaud your
          resistance.
