We can debate the neccessity of the teaching of history for many years
to come.  I suggest that we direct our attention to the following qotue
to determine why history should be taught.
 
        "A PEOPLE WITHOUT A KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR HISTORY IS LIKE A TREE
WITHOUT ROOTS."
