Although officially known as the Saint Paul Cultural Garden, the downtown
riverbluff site (@ Kellogg & Robert) is commonly known as the "poetry
garden." The result of three visual artists (led by "public artist" Cliff
Garten) and five poets, the site which opened November 1993 is a remarkable
blend of visual, verbal, and natural art forms celebrating the river, local
histories, and language itself . . . Funded by the Saint Paul Foundation
and administered by Public Art Saint Paul, the land (donated by the City of
Saint Paul) has room for a 4- or 5-fold expansion of the garden. Best,  Jim
