At the University of Northern Iowa Museum, in Cedar Falls, we have the award
winning _Fastoldt Clock_. At the 1876 exhibition in took first honors amongst
other tower clock entrys, winning it a medal and plaque. It was the first
clock mechanism that allowed the hands of tower clock to freeze up, yet the
clock would keep the time, and when the hands moved again they automatically
re-set to the proper time. In another competition of almost 300 competitors,
the Fastodlt clock was awarded to UNI (then Iowa State Teachers College Founded
1876)) in 1925. It lived in the campus Campanile until ca. 1971.

When the opportunity arises it's always nice to brag about one of your
recognized pieces, eh :-).
