The Seattle Art Museum has a group called the Metropolitan Guild. This is a
group of members who pay an additional yearly fee to belong to the guild.
This group offers evening events every two months. Some evening events
offer tours of artists homes, private collections, parties, etc.

I would like to start something like that but I work at a local history
museum (pioneer style). Since the community is large but isolated, I think
it would be a good idea to draw a younger professional crowd and develop a
new group that would be interested in the museum and it's future.

Does anyone have ideas for events related to history that would be like the
Metropolitan Guild? Art seems to have the panache for this type of thing,
and History does not.
