ASSISTANT PARK MANAGER POSITION OPEN IN EL PASO, TEXAS
MAGOFFIN HOME STATE HISTORICAL PARK
TEXAS PARKS & WILDLIFE DEPT
 
This historic house is being restored and refurnished to
1890s.  The position is currently open.  COMPLETED
applications should be submitted to Carolina Ramos,
Franklin Mountains State Park, Box 200, Canutillo,
TX  79835 no later than January 4, 1995, and must
include cover letter and TPWD application form.

Salary range $2,402 to $2,692/month plus state benefits
 
Position is responsible to and assists Complex Manager
with overall operation, preservation and maintenance of
Magoffin Home SHP.  Assists with planning, organizing
and management of day-to-day operation of park.
Responsibilities include direct supervision of personnel,
budget control, purchasing, preparation of reports,
accountability for park receipts and revenue, public
relations and interpretation, customer service,
equipment, facility and grounds maintenance, and park
safety programs.
 
Requirements
1. Bachelors with major coursework in park administration,
natural or cultural science, tourism, museum science or
related academic field.  60 semester hours plus 5 years
or more experience may be substituted.
2. 5 years experience with the following work:  preparing
and presenting education/interpretation programs and special
event programs, volunteer/partnership management, supervision
and training of volunteers, staff and contractors,
organizing work programs, budgeting, and computer use,
performing repairs to equipment, grounds, and facilities,
cultural/natural resource site management, and retail sales.
