Does anyone out there know anything about memory jugs or memory bowls (also
possibly called "gloom catchers")? These appear to be covered with a
clay-like substance with trinkets--sewing notions, photos, jewelry,
etc--pressed into the substance and then gold paint applied between the
trinkets. The few I've heard about date from between 1900-1920ish. If you
can pass on any information, I'd appreciate it. It's probably best to reply
directly to me at [log in to unmask] Thanks!
