If the editorial policies of the Northwest Herald newspaper in
Crystal Lake, IL is any indication, U. S. veterans groups
complaining about a revisionist approach to the National Air and
Space Museum's planned exhibition on the bombing of Hiroshima and
Nagasaki may be justified in their fears that a large segment of
today's population have no context for understanding about the
decision to drop the atomic bomb. On Monday, September 5, that
paper featured an article about the ongoing controversy with
the headline: "Atomic bombers criticize Enola homosexual
exhibit."
