I have a specific historical museum type question:

Does anyone know of a site in the Northeast where, in the
19th century, the functions of agriculture, commerce (ie
warehousing and wholesale shipping), industry (in this case
the processing of snuff from the Connecticut River valley),
and country estate were combined in one site?

Again, this is the early 19th century, here at the New York
Botanical Garden, which was once all of these things to the
          Lorillards.

          Thanks for your replies
