I apologize to those of you that had to plow through my personal response to
Dave Wells. I sent it via the list because I didn't notice a personal E Mail
address, perhaps it was there and I missed it. Now I have it.
I do have one comment on this subject. Sometimes, what I say to someone
personnaly, may very well be helpful to others. That is, after all, the purpose
of the list, isn't it? Sometimes, there may be a fine line between personal and
general information.
I would like to repeat a request I sent out recently. Thank you to those who
have already responded. The info will be helpful in upcoming meetings. If
there are those of you who planned to respond but just haven't gotten around to
it, I would like to encourage you to do so. I'm sure there are others who will
benefit as well.
Previous request:
I am with the International Museum of Cultures in Southwest Dallas, Texas.
Presently we have about 3500 sq.ft. of exhibit space and almost no production
area. We are in the process of short and long range plans for expansion and we
are doing some research. Our first building will be a 2,000sq.ft. one which
will house the exhibit production area with all its facilities (at least we hope
all) along with an Art Director's office. We also are planning to include the
Curator's office and work area in this facility. The Curator's office will be
next to an entrance to one of the exhibit areas. Our receiving area will be
included also at one end of this extension. We have not decided where to place
the Collection storage in the overall expansion.
We would like to have input on the inclusion of a ventilating system for
airbrushh work and any other production materials. Any other comments about
thinngs you have learned over time will be appreciated.
My thanks in advance,
Gary Eastty
