Matthew Weinstein's query about the Museum of Jurassic Technology (featured in
the recent Harper's Magazine) : their answering machine # is 310-836-6131. Unti
l October 2nd, the Museum's founder/curator David Wilson is in Germany, helping
set up a branch museum near Frankfort. It is a truly extraordinary institution,
to my knowledge the only full-scale parody of museums and museology currently
in existence, and of the 74 or so museums in the LA metropolitan area, one of
the few with a sense of humor (several others I could mention are unintentional

on the subject of Native American responses/interactions with museums portrayin
g native americans, at the anthropology department at UCLA.
                                                           The Museum is locate
d at 9341 Venice Boulevard, Culver City CA 90232-2621, tel 310.836.6131, and is
well worth a visit when in town. I often take my museology seminars and art his
-tory classes there once a term
