The RLIN Art and Architecture Thesaurus (AAT) file is an online
version of The Art & Architecture (AAT) published by the Art and
Architecture Thesaurus of the Getty Art History Information Program,
Williamstown, MA. It is available to anyone who has an account on
RLIN (Research Libraries Group Information Network)

AAT contains terms used in the cataloging and indexing of art,
architecture, and archival materials. It also includes cross
references and alternate terms.

The Indiana University Library, like many major libraries and
museums, has an RLIN account. Anyone who is interested in online
AAT should check with your library -- you may already have access to
it! (Susan, for example can call Tom Schneiter, who is the RLIN
liaison at IUL.)

If you have access to RLIN, the process is simple: enter the RLIN
authority files with the command CAL RLIN (AUT), and then SEL FIL
AAT.

For more information about how to access RLIN, contact the RLIN
Information Center directly, by email at [log in to unmask]
or by phone at (800)-537-7546.
