Yes, I'd heard he was being considered but hadn't seen the official
appointment announcement.  Thanks!  He was Chancellor of most of my time
at Cal.  Apparently a pretty good person, but who really knows what kind of a
manager he really was. The UCB is so big and I was a very little fish in that
ocean.
