Sorry bout the misplaced file! Here's the real thing:

        Database Access Policy

The Archaeology Collections Database at the University of
Alaska Museum is an important resource that can be used to
access data from the collections, as well as a tool for collections
management. However, the database is not a source of primary
data. Researchers making use of data from the Archaeology
Collections Database should recognize the nature of the data
and acknowledge professional responsibilities entailed in the
use of these data.

The Archaeology Collections Database is intended to support
use of the Archaeology Collections, not to replace use of the
Collections themselves. It is the first step in the process of
research, an important tool for organization of data prior to
primary data gathering. In many cases, the data contained in
the database may be incomplete or in error.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to verify
catalog entry identification and associated information
before reporting data from the Archaeology Collections
Database in any form.

Access to the Archaeology Collections Database must be approved by
the Archaeology Curator. Any request for copies of information in the
Archaeology Collections Database must be submitted as a written
proposal, stipulating the proposed use of the information.
Researchers must sign an agreement with University of Alaska
Museum detailing restrictions on the use of data from the
Archaeology Collections Database.

As a recipient of data we ask that you signify your agreement
to the following stipulations by signing and returning this document:

1) The data provided are to be used only in the manner described in
a written request. These data are not to be transmitted to other
investigators nor incorporated into other permanent databases. Sale
of these data is not permitted.

2) Any report or summary based on these data must explicitly
acknowledge the Archaeology Collection at the University of Alaska
Museum and state clearly the extent to which the results stem from
(or do not stem from) the examination of the collections.

3) You recognize the provisional status of the data. We do not certify
the correctness of any particular datum. The database is a
management tool and changes to the database are ongoing.

4) You agree to notify the Museum of erroneous or improbable data
that you encounter. The database is enhanced by the cumulative
effort of its users.
