I am curious to know if there are similar publications or standards to
deal with an analogous dilemma that Daniel has encountered:  converting a
heap of photographs into an accessible whole.
 
Do the books mentioned and LOC standards only deal with cataloging of
texts?  Are there manuals dealing exclusively with cataloging photos?
