The inclusion of museums in this effort is directly supported
by the efforts to create a National Biological Survey -- a
substantial portion of which deals with making data and
information accessible - much of that coming from systematics
collections in museums.  Presumably, AAM has already joined
forces with the spokespeople for the NBS (yes?) - Peter Raven
for example.
