The members of this list might like to know that the GETTY AHIP people
are soon coming out with the Union List of Artist's Names, ULAN.  It should
help those of us chasing down acceptable spellings and variations on names.
There is a review of it in the forth coming issue of SPECTRA written by Roberta
Frey Gilboe, which pretty carefully points out its features and potential uses.
I know we plan to use it to help us with our database of names here at the DIA.
I'll never forget the time when I found Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in the old DIA
database under  ROHE!!!
