John--

When I was at The Franklin Institute, we developed a computer kiosk that went
through formal human factors testing. It works well for people in wheelchairs
as well as children and adults. The monitor is placed on a tabletop with
30 degrees of tilt; cpu is in a cabinet underneath, set back for wheelchair
access.

It was designed by Director of Exhibits and Design Sandy Caesar, who may
still have drawings. The project files were left with my successor,
Paul Helfrich. Cabinets were fabricated by Lynch in New Jersey.

The computers are touchscreen interface, but also use a barcode reader which
is mounted in front. I'm sure there'd be room for a trackball, and room
in the cabinet for any additional peripherals.
