It would be best for you to get a bibliography from the Museum
Reference Center at the Smithsonian for the basic core books on
museology and museum studies. There is no ONE book (bible) for
the museum field, but there are a number of good ones that will
give you a solid background of information. Call or write to
Valerie Wheat, Librarian...A&I Bldg. 2235, Smithsonian I.,
Wash. D.C. 20560. AAM and AASLH also have book listings.
