Hi Robbin...

I used the listserv learning approach a year ago when I taught Sociology
of Technology at SUNY at STony Brook. One of the course requirements
was that everyone had to join the History of Technology internet
discussion group. They then needed to send messages back and forth to
each other concerning their class projects. They were also expected to
use the History of Technology list as a resource to completing their
project assignment. I also had them communicate with me via the
internet regarding any questions with which they needed help.

I was really glad to see that someone else out there is experimenting
with the same technique. I think it is a wonderful way to get students
to expand their research ability.

                                        Keep up the good work...

                                             Regards, Jeanne S.
