The Mid-Atlantic Council of Museums (MAAM) offers "Learning Leaders: Deciding,
Doing, and Measuring Results" on May 12 & 13 at the University of Pennsylvania
Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology, Philadelphia, PA.
The program combines an integrated museum management philosophy with insight
into personal learning and leadership styles; knowledge of formal,
structured, cooperative decision making techniques; and an introduction into
evaluate processes which sharpen program design and allow the museum to amass
evidence which can demonstrate programmatic effects. Participants will gain
knowledge of the life cycle of nonprofits and a range of organizational
practice for adaptation to unique museum environments. The workshop will
explore barrier to change and will assess individual and museum readiness to
meet the challenges of national calls for transformation. Participants will be
coached to create a personal/professional plan of action aimed at making
museums better places to work, to study, and to visit.
