A co-worker saw problems with the ten hour day in relation to family
matters--if both worker&spouse are professionals, the ever juggling "who picks
up the kids, takes them to practice..." falls to one partner putting stress on
those times when s/he can't leave at five.
 
It seems hard enough to eat and get to class, cultural event, etc. getting off
at five, however, a three-day weekend sure sounds good.
