Every once in a while we get requests for information
about "online degee programs" or "off-campus
degree programs". While we DO NOT offer an "online
degree program", we do offer an "external degree program."
Students complete the majority of work at a distance
from campus. Perhaps you could pass this information
on if you cannot use it personally.
The University of Oklahoma's College of Liberal
Studies offers fully accredited Bachelor's and
Master's degrees which are earned mainly through
independent study.
For museum professionals we offer a special
Master's degree: The Master of Liberal Studies
with Museum Emphasis. If you are working in a museum,
gallery, historical society, zoo, or other museum-
related facility, the Master of Liberal Studies with
Museum Emphasis may offer the educational opportunity
you've been seeking. The MLS/ME is a curricular alternative
within the framework of the basic MLS program which offers
a nontraditional graduate program. The MLS/ME is not a
professional museum studies program; rather, it is an
academic program which addresses common museology issues and
content from philosophical and theoretical perspectives.
It is flexible, self-paced, and individually designed.
Our program consists mostly of non-traditional
students from all over the country and the world.
Almost all of our students work full time.
Most of the program is completed through independent
study. Students attend only three seminars here
at the University of Oklahoma campus as they progress
through the program: 1) MLS/ME INTRODUCTORY SEMINAR (2 WKS)
2) COLLOQUIUM (3 WKS) 3) ADVANCED SEMINAR (2 WKS).
Our next two MLS/ME Introductory Seminars are:
October 24 - November 3, 1994
March 20-30, 1995
For more information about our program please feel
free to call me personally, Frank Rodriquez,

or 405-325-1061. I can answer your questions
or send you some literature. Or of course feel free
to send an EMAIL request with your complete US Postal
service mailing address and I will be glad to send
you the information.
Sincerely,
