Dear Sir, Madam,
I am a 25 year old student at the University of Utrecht in
the Netherlands and I am majoring in Art Policy and Art
Management. A part of my programme is a three-months
internship at an approved art institution.
I would be very interested in doing this internship in United
States, because I am familiar with some art institutions and
collections in Chicago, New York and Washington D.C. I am
deeply impressed by the quality of the collections and the
excellent way in which the American institutes operate.
Could you give me your opinion on the possibilities of an
internship for me at an American art institute?
If so, could you possibly act as a mediator or, if not, could
you give me other suggestions on what I should do? I would
appreciate it very much if you could help me in any way to
find an internship for the last three months of this year.
During my four years at this University I took several classes
on modern American art and I have written papers on the
following subjects:
- The art policy of a little town, called Bladel en
Netersel;
- The strategic management of the Amsterdams Uit Buro,
which is a cultural information service;
- The marketing-activities of the KunstRAI in Amsterdam,
which is a national fine art fair.
This year I will take classes in project management and in
management skills. I will also do an individual research on
the art policy activities of an art institute. I hope that you
will be able to help me in any way to achieve an internship in
the United States. Thanking you in advance,
I remain yours sincerely,
Jacotien Visser
