Are there any museums out there that have developed and marketed an
interactive cd-rom, either on their own or with the help of outside
consultants/financial backing? If so, I have some questions about how it
was done. I'll just throw out a few questions as a starter:
--How was the project financed? If outside funding was used, what was the
source?
--If outside consultants were used, who were they?
--Was marketing handled by the museum, or was it done through a cd-rom
publisher?
--Did the cd-rom turn out as originally planned, and is it considered
successful?
I currently am working with a group at the Burke Museum in Seattle that is
considering the development of a cd-rom on Northwest Coast Indian art and
culture, and I am the only one in the group that is active on the
internet. Any answers, hints, suggestions, etc., will be appreciated.
