Hi,
I've been asked by our ED to look into using some of the fruit labels in our collection for reproduction on merchandise to be sold in our gift shop. Has anyone had any experience with this? We are trying to figure out how copyright applies and if we would need to seek permission to use them. These labels are all from local growers and packers from the late 1800s to the early-mid 20th century, and are not national companies. Most of these companies no longer exist or the grower has passed away. A few of the labels we are thinking about using are from families who are still associated with our museum. Any advice you have, is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Julie
