Dear colleagues,

Apologies for length..

I hope this finds you all doing well on a hot Friday afternoon (at least here in NYC it's hot).

1) SSO
We are an active directory shop. We are in the process of moving most of our shared folders up to Google for NonProfits, using the Google File Stream sync tool so that users can access their 'home' folders (google my drive) and 'shared' folders (google shared drives) via a lettered drive in Windows File Explorer as well as via their browser. We also are a Slack shop. We use cloud-based NetX as our digital asset management system.

We have SSO setup so that AD credentials will work for Adobe Creative Cloud and NetX. I am considering adding Google and Slack to the mix. Our General Counsel is very nervous about SSO. I mentioned that we could turn on TFA (two actor authentication). She told me to ask around and find out what other folks are doing? So - can y'all provide me any information about your approach to or policies regarding SSO and TFA? I should add that I have internally circulated a password policy for review which I am still waiting to get feedback on.

2) gmail/outlook
Since we're moving to Google for Non-Profits and many users here are excited to be able to begin using google apps instead of MS Office.. the next hurdle is the General Counsel, who is not super technical but calls a lot of shots here has heard that outlook works much better with office 365 than with google... my concern is that unless you have sharepoint running (which we don't) comparing Google for non-profits to Office365 is not quite apples to apples. How terrible is the outlook client experience if we move from exchange to gmail for handling email services? Thanks in advance for all input/advice/comments, etc.

Have a great day and enjoy the weekend that is almost here!

Best wishes,

Joshua
