Hello,

I work at a living history maritime museum, that includes both overnight and day camps, guided and self guided tours. Our (ideal) group size for our guided tours is 10-12 visitors with their chaperone and one of our educators. For self guided we request that they have a minimum of one adult per 10 kids. It doesn't always work that way, but that is what we shoot for. We have some tight spaces, so large groups can be difficult to fit.

It was a marine environment 65 million years ago The current education coordinator hosts fired trips with 200 students at a time. I think this is way to many and it is taking away from the educational experience of our students but I’m struggling in figuring out what the ideal group size should be.

I’d love to hear what your max group size is for a guided school tour in your museum, what your group size is for any specialized experiences, and what type of museum it is.
