Dr. Rob Huxley is a museums and heritage consultant specializing in 
strategic management of collections. He was Head of Botanical 
Collections at the Natural History Museum, London (NHM) for 20 years, 
retiring from there as Principal Curator in 2015.

Rob specializes in assessment, developing new methods, and training in 
natural history collections management. Dr. Huxley lead networking and 
molecular research elements of the EU funded SYNTHESYS project 
(2003-2015) developing management-level assessments for collections and 
devising and delivering training programs across Europe. He has 
extensive experience in assessing and providing advice on natural 
history collections and their management across Europe, North America, 
and Africa and has compiled and delivered some 25 training initiatives 
up to masters level.

He will be leading the course Tools for Strategic Management of 
Collections beginning January 8, 2018.
