Hi, all--

Washington National Cathedral has an opening for Visitor Programs Manager:

Reporting to the Director of Visitor Programs, the Visitor Programs Manager will recruit, train, and supervise our large corps of volunteer and paid tour guides; oversee the smooth and efficient running of a daily program of varied tours; assist with the presentation of art exhibits; and develop strategies to communicate information to visitors.

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Museum Studies, Education, or a related field; at least five years of experience with visitor services in a museum or major institution with high-volume visitor traffic; at least three years of experience managing and developing volunteers and staff; and the ability to develop deep knowledge of the Cathedral's art, architecture, history, and mission. Some work on Saturdays, Sundays, evenings, and holidays is required.

The incumbent has been in the position for 10+ years, and our docent corps currently numbers around 90.
