We've been looking at this too, Laura, and my first take is that the format is kind of boring and makes every museum's site look pretty much the same. I'm also not happy that the only "interaction" provided for visitors is directly to the institution by email (I would have liked to see a Facebook-style comment facility, or even an old-fashioned guest-book, to allow visitors to interact with each other).

Some museums seem to have made good use of the site's abilities, others not so much.

I'll be real interested in comments from folks who have already used this.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] PastPerfect Online

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody has used PastPerfect Online to virtually display objects from their collection? If you have, what are your thoughts? Did you like it? Why or why not? Here is a demo video for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXV1y9tVGZA.

I've been looking for ways to get visitors more interested in our holdings and thought a platform like this one might help!

I'm open to suggestions for other programs that offer the same basic features for free or for an affordable price.

Thanks in advance,

Laura Russman
