Megan,

- Just to other remarks. You used the term redware. Don't you know what 
it is? Modern industrial redware, 19th cent, native pottery, Roman 
redware etc? On the other hand you wrote that it does not fit into YOUR 
collection which means you have at least an idea what it is exactly, its 
age, function etc.
- You planned to deaccess it. To other museums? On a flea market?
Why not uploading a picture of the shards to a different server and 
sending us a link in order to get more help from the museum scene? 
[Museum-L does not allow to attach pictures, but more modern museum 
discussion lists allow this. It is a common practice in other museum 
discussion lists to forward pictures of totally unknown materials 
("UFOS") to the community and in most cases one gets the help needed.]
