Happy Monday everyone,
I have a new intern starting this week and she is raising a puppy for Guide Dogs for the Blind. In general our policy is only to allow animals onto our campus who are service dogs. However, this dog is in training and will be in areas where collections are processed. I have met her and she is well behaved, but my office area is so closed spaced that I'm thinking that pet hair and other issues could harm the collection. My intern would only be here for 3-4 hours out of the day and said that she could leave the dog at home for that time, but I don't know what the guidelines for that are. I think having the dog in an office environment for training would be a good thing for the dog, but at the same time I also need to look out for our collections. Your thoughts would be appreciated, especially if you've dealt with this situation before.
Thanks,
Julie
